Maria Borges made hair history at Victoria Secret's 2015 Fashion Show when she wore a teeny-weeny afro (TWA) strutting down the runway, reported CNN.

The Angolan model made her third appearance at one of the most anticipated fashion shows of the year, but this time Borges walked the runway sans her flowing free tresses, noted Bella Naija.

"I told my agent I wanted to walk in the Victoria's Secret show with my natural hair," Borges told Essence. "I was nervous, but I had to do it. When they said 'yes,' I didn't expect it, but I was so happy!"

Borges usually wears her hair permed or with hair extensions, according to NAW Magazine. She wore long, flowing locks when she walked in the 2014 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

The Forbes Africa Magazine's top model of 2013 walked the runway with her natural hair this year. She made history as the first black Angel to sashay down the Victoria’s secret runaway with natural hair.

“Are you ready for the 2015 @VictoriasSecret fashion show?! I'll be rocking my Afro hair this year for THE show!” The Angolan beauty tweeted.

Maria Borges was raised by her siblings during the Angolan Civil War. She was later discovered after she placed 2nd at the Angolan version of the Elite Model Look. The model was a Givenchy exclusive two years in a row.

The Angolan beauty gave advice to women thinking about wearing their natural curls.

“Be strong,” she said. “If you say you’re beautiful without hair and makeup, then they will believe you. It’s about being confident and always being yourself.”

The Angolan Angel can be seen on The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show on Tuesday, December 8 at 10 p.m. on CBS.
