Justin Timberlake and Timbaland's upcoming collaboration will be a country music album, the rapper revealed to TMZ in an interview on Tuesday.

When asked about whether the "Sexy Back" singer is working on a country project, Timbaland said he was working with JT. on the new album and confirmed that they would be going country with their next record.

"We are country," he said, according to CMT. "He's from Tennessee. I'm from Virginia. It's only right that we try to tap into what we was raised in. And we was raised in the country. That's who we are,"

"I don't discriminate no genres," Timbaland added. "It's like one day you might like ice cream, one day you might want some apple pie."

Timberlake performed the country-inclined "Drink You Away" with Chris Stapleton at the Country Music Awards earlier this month, as HNGN previously reported. The track has since been released as a single to country radio.
