Since earlier this year, there has been a lot of speculation regarding Ryan Gosling's involvement in the "Blade Runner" sequel. However, the actor has put an end to the rumors by confirming that he will star in the follow-up to Ridley Scott's original film in an interview while promoting his new film "The Big Short."

"Yes, that's true!" he said when asked about whether or not he's part of the project, according to Collider

The "Drive" actor added that the fact that he was getting an opportunity to work with director Denis Villeneuve and cinematographer Roger Deakins played a major part in his decision to say yes to the film. However, the actor did not reveal any further details about the film or his character.

"It's exciting! All of those things," he said, according to E!. "And if I say anymore there's a chip in me that will explode if I say anything else."

"Blade Runner 2," which is scheduled to begin production next year, will take place many decades after the events of Ridley Scott's 1982 sci-fi classic. Harrison Ford will reprise his role as Rick Deckard in the film, which will be produced by Scott, IGN reported.
