Caitlyn Jenner confronted protesters outside of the Hilton Hotel in Chicago Thursday afternoon who claimed the former Olympian and reality TV star is an "insult to trans people," Entertainment Tonight reported. Jenner was leaving a luncheon for the Chicago House, an LGBT organization in the city, where she delivered a keynote speech about the issues that plagues the transgender community.

The luncheon was a benefit for the Chicago House, a social service that provides aid and housing to LGBT and HIV-positive people, and raised $20,845 by the end of Jenner's speech, according to DNA Info Chicago. While inside, Jenner acknowledged that she comes from a position of privilege but stressed that it was important to her to shed light on Trans issues.

However, a group of about three protesters rallied outside of the Hilton to denounce her as a spokeswoman for the transgender community. As Jenner exited, one protester with a megaphone shouted, "You are an insult to Trans people, you are an insult to women. You have no right to represent us," according to video footage obtained by Entertainment Tonight.

Jenner gently confronted the protesters, which can be seen in the footage as well, and a production source for season two of Jenner's E! docuseries "I Am Cait" said that cameras were rolling during the confrontation.

"We didn't know Caitlyn was going to talk back to the protesters," the source told Entertainment Tonight. "None of it was staged."

On a cached version of the now-deleted Facebook group that advertised the scheduled protest, a group that goes by the name "I Ain't Cait" wrote an explanation of why they were staging a protest. They promoted the protest on social media with the hashtag "#IAintCait."

"Caitlyn Jenner, who lives in a mansion and has a net worth of millions of dollars, while the average trans person has a 41 percent chance of experiencing homelessness and a nearly 50 percent chance of living off less than $10k per year," read the description in the Facebook event.
