Caitlyn Jenner was honored with the title of "Newsmaker of the Year" in Out magazine's annual Out 100 list, People reported. The former Olympian and star of the groundbreaking E! docuseries "I Am Cait" opened up in her interview and revealed that she got emotional after legally changing her name from Bruce to Caitlyn earlier this fall.

"In some ways, it's a little sad," Caitlyn told Out just one day after her legal name and gender change was granted in September. "Bruce was a good guy, did a lot of good things, raised a tremendous family and wonderful kids. But I just couldn't play that game any longer."

"I actually cried a little bit about it," she revealed.

Jenner documented her transition in the 8-episode "I Am Cait" docuseries in which she navigated her new life as a woman while still maintaining her relationships with her biological daughters Kylie and Kendall Jenner, her step-daughters Kim, Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian and her ex-wife Kris Jenner.

Throughout the series, Jenner also shed light on the different types of issues that face the transgender community, and E! ordered a second season of the show so that Jenner could continue to tell her story, as previously reported by HNGN.

Critics of the series claimed that Jenner has not yet done enough for her community, according to Out, but she said that she plans to continue to take steps towards being a strong transgender activist.

"I'm so terribly excited about the future," Jenner said. "I have so many things to do. I feel like I have a place in life."
