The home side crushed South Afria in the first Test, played at Mohali, by 108 runs on Nov. 7. Now, India is looking to win the second Test in order to extend its lead over the visitors.

"Psychologically and team-wise, we can say that we have the advantage, as we had a good (first) Test match. We are focused on what we have to do to succeed in this match," Indian batsman Cheteswar Pujara said on Thursday, according to Zee News.

South Africa, which won the ODI and T20 series during the ongoing India tour, is hoping to bounce back in the Test series. Proteas batsman Skipper de Villiers, who will complete his 100 Test matches when he takes the field in the second Test, said on Thursday that his side would bounce back in the Bangalore match.

"South African teams are known for bouncing back and their resilience, I'm expecting the boys to be hungry for the second Test match," he said, according to sports24.

"We are expecting turning wickets, whether we go to Bangalore or Delhi, we are prepared for that. We have worked really hard at our game and I feel we have covered all of the bases. I don't think we played poorly in the first Test, there were a few hours where we didn't play good cricket, it has nothing to do with our skills and potential to take India on in their own conditions. I'm prepared for any kind of Bangalore wicket come this Test match," added de Villiers.
