Bruce Springsteen performed a four-song set during the ninth annual Stand Up For Heroes event in New York City, a comedy fundraiser that benefits veterans, Billboard reported. Comedians Jon Stewart and Seth Meyers also performed stand-up sets at the event, which was hosted at Madison Square Garden. Both funny men took jabs at 2016 presidential candidate Donald Trump.

"Are we really doing this Trump thing?" Stewart quipped, as reported by the Chicago Tribune. "We liked to make jokes about him (on 'The Daily Show"), because he's hilarious. He's mockable, extraordinarily mockable, hugely mockable."

"My favorite thing about thinking about these GOP debates is thinking about campaigns preparing their candidates for going on stage with Donald Trump, because I imagine it's the same way park rangers prepare campers for the possibility that they might see a bear," Meyers joked, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.

The Boss himself even took a stab at telling jokes between his songs at the benefit for the Bob Woodruff Foundation, which included hits "For You," "Darlington County," "Working on the Highway," and "Dancing in the Dark," according to Billboard. He tried flexing his funny muscle with dirty jokes about Dick Van Dyke and a "voodoo penis."

An auction wrapped up the night, which started out with a prize package that included a Fender Stratocaster signed by Springsteen and tickets to an E Street Band concert. The bidding quickly rose past the $200,000 mark and the singer threw in a homemade lasagna by his mother, Adele. Between two bidders, the package raised $740,000 for the Woodruff Foundation, which helps support veterans.
