The humble New Jersey house where a 25-year-old Bruce Springsteen penned the songs for his 1975 classic album "Born to Run" is up for sale.

The two-bedroom, 828-square-foot house at 7½ West End Court in Long Branch, N.J., is owned by three fans of the musician who bought it with the intention of turning it into a tribute to the rock legend. However, life has taken them in different directions and the owners have reluctantly decided to sell it, hoping the new owners will preserve the spirit of the house, according to the Associated Press.

Springsteen, who celebrated the 40th anniversary of "Born to Run" Aug. 25, wrote the entire album — including the title track as well as other classics like "Thunder Road," "Tenth Avenue Freeze-out," "Jungleland" and "Backstreets" — within the house's four walls while living there between 1974 and 1975, according to New Jersey Online.

The house, which is listed for $299,000, has become a bit of a tourist attraction and occasionally attracts visitors, who the current owners say they try to accommodate.
