"Supergirl" has cast Emma Caulfield to bring life to DC Comics character Cameron Chase. She will make her debut in an upcoming episode of the CBS superhero drama, according to The Mary Sue.

According to the character description, Caulfield will play the "stern, no holds barred FBI agent" who dedicated her life to law enforcement after the murder of her father. "Chase's weapons of choice are manipulation and manpower. With little sympathy, and plenty of suspicions, she pursues her targets with ruthless determination."

DC Comics introduced the character of Cameron Chase in 1998's "Batman" #550. Her appearance in the issue set up her own series, "Chase," which followed Cameron as an agent of the Department of Extranormal Operations tasked with monitoring and neutralizing metahuman threats to security.

In the more recent New 52, Chase was sent to capture Batwoman in Gotham City, but Batwoman escapes after breaking the agent's arm.

Caulfield is best known for her role as Anya on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Her other credits include "Life Unexpected," "General Hospital" and "Beverly Hills, 90210."

"Supergirl" airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
