"X-Men" franchise godfather Bryan Singer has routinely taken to social media over the years to tease special upcoming announcements or reveal interesting tidbits of information about his mutant movies. Even though he first started with the "X-Men" franchise way back in 2000, it seems like not much has changed.

In case you want to take a real deep dive, the image in the background is of James McAvoy, who plays Professor Charles Xavier. In that image it is obvious he still has a full head of hair, though he is expected to lose it and adopt the more classic Professor X look at some point in the film.

To date, we've seen a handful of stills from "Apocalypse," including first looks at new characters/actors in the series, but we've yet to receive any footage. Hopefully, Singer will change that soon. As the expected conclusion to the "First Class" trilogy, "Apocalypse" will likely see the last of McAvoy, Michael Fassbender (Magneto) and Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique) in the X-Universe. The direct future of the "X-Men" franchise will then fall to newcomers such as Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops) and Alexandra Shipp (Storm). 20th Century Fox is banking on the newcomers, as well as the other planned mutant movies, being well received so the studio can compete with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" will hit theaters on May 27, 2016.
