A couple months ago fans found out “Friends” star Lisa Kudrow would be heading to “Scandal” as a politician. However, there wasn’t much word on the character she would play.

Now, there is.

Darby Stanchfield, who plays Abby, explained that you’re not going to see Kudrow’s usual cup of tea—meaning the hilarious nature she brought to her “Friends “ role and other comedy roles.

“You’re not getting Phoebe. It’s kind of amazing what you are going to get. You’re getting the spicy version in that variety pack,” Stanchfield.explained.

Stanchfield also added that Abby and Kudrow’s character will have a significant relationship.

“Our characters get along,” explained Stanchfield. “She’s almost like a mentor. Not quite like Olivia, but Abby admires the heck out of her, so it was fun to play.”

According to Deadline, this is Kudrow’s “biggest series acting commitment” since playing Phoebe Buffay on the famous sitcom. Since then, Kudrow has starred in HBO’s “The Comeback” and Showtime’s “Web Therapy” which she also created and produces.

Kudrow’s appearance is one of the many things to look forward to in the third season which got off to an amazing start last Thursday. Scandal returned with its best numbers ever. The Season 3 premiere attracted about 10.5 million viewers, according to Deadline. The show also exploded on Twitter garnering about 713,000 tweets along with an audience of 3.7 million on the social media site per Nielsen’s Twitter ratings for television.

“Scandal” airs Thursdays at 10/9c on ABC.
