Pumpkins are a part of fall. Pre-fall brings us the Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks, which is when we start getting excited for the upcoming season that is right around the corner.

Imagine you are a wolf at a wolf park in Indiana. Picture your your day-to-day existence and how the great people at the wolf park work hard to give you some variety and enrichment to your life.

Now picture Pumpkin Day. Amplify that feeling by 100, and you get the true excitement these wolves have at the annual Pumpkin Day at the Wolf Park in Battle Ground Indiana.

The Pumpkin Party is scheduled around Halloween every year, affectionately referred to as Howloween around the park, and has staff and volunteers stuffing jack-o-lanterns with tasty animal friendly treats for the wolves, foxes and coyotes, according to White Wolf Pack. The wolves are by far the favorite, as they are the stars of the show at the Wolf Park. Heck, they even named the park after them.

Yummy treats such as Vienna sausages, slim jims, hamburger buns and everyone's favorite, spam, are stuffed inside, getting the wolves excited at the once-a-year festivity.

So as each lucky wolf gets their pumpkin, just like us, they each have their own system of accepting it. Some sit down and start in on it right there, some try to swap as let's face it, the treats always seem better in someone else's pumpkin, and then some grab their pumpkin and head to a secluded area to savor every bit and treat inside.

The wolves at the Wolf Park are incredible animals, and what a delight it is to see them enjoying the pumpkin like the rest of us.
