Carrie Underwood has come a long way since her days on "American Idol." The country star is now a mommy to 8-month-old Isaiah Fisher, whom she shares with her NHL hockey player husband Mike Fisher. She dedicated her new ballad "What I Never Knew I Always Wanted" to the two men in her life, ABC News reported.

"I never really pictured myself getting married," Underwood told ABC News. "And I guess I never really - I always assumed a family was in the future, but I wasn't, you know, 'Oh my gosh, I can't wait to have kids,' and I kind of took a more laid-back approach to the whole thing. Now I couldn't imagine my life without either one of them."

The 32-year-old sings "I didn't know there was a hole / Something missing in my soul 'til you filled it up with your love" in the chorus. She addressed Fisher in the line "Thought I was happy on my own / 'Til you came and proved me wrong," then mentions her son with the lyric "You're stealing every bit of my heart with your daddy's eyes / What a sweet surprise."

The song is the last track on Underwood's recently released highly anticipated fifth album "Storyteller." Underwood announced its release at midnight on Friday with a celebratory tweet.

"It's here!!!! #Storyteller is available worldwide!! https://smarturl.it/custoryteller," the country star tweeted, along with the music notes and party hat emoji.
