Thirty years after the popular '80s animated series "Jem and the Holograms" premiered, a new live-action adaptation will hit theaters starring Aubrey Peeples as the mysterious female rocker. Netflix will release the third and final season of "Hemlock Grove" and 5 Seconds of Summer will drop their sophomore album, "Sounds Good Feels Good."

The Halloween season also heats up this week on the big and small screen with the premiere of "Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension" and the start of ABC Family's "13 Nights of Halloween" on Monday.

IN THEATERS (Oct. 23)

Jem and the Holograms (PG)

Aubrey Peeples stars as Jerrica Benton a.k.a. Jem, an aspiring singer who looks to achieve her music dreams alongside her sister and friends. The film, directed by Jon Chu, also stars Juliette Lewis, Molly Ringwald and Ryan Guzman.

The Last Witch Hunter (PG-13)

Kaulder (Vin Diesel) must take down the all-powerful Queen Witch (Julie Engelbrect) who cursed him with her immortality and separated him from his wife and daughter centuries ago. When the Queen is resurrected, Kaulder is the only one to put her down again to save the human race.

Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension (R)

"The Ghost Dimension" is the sixth and final installment in the "Paranormal Activity" franchise. The movie follows new family, The Fleeges, that will come across videotapes that show a young Katie and Kristi being inducted into their grandmother's demonic coven.

Rock the Kasbah (R)

Bill Murray stars as down-on-his-luck music manager, Richie Lanz, who discovers a female teen singing sensation in Afghanistan. He takes her to Kabul to compete on Afghan Star.

TV Premieres

ABC Family's "13 Nights of Halloween" (Starts on Monday, Oct. 19 at 1:30 p.m.)

The annual spooky marathon will feature Tim Burton's "Sleepy Hollow" and Disney-Pixar's "Monsters University" as well as a Halloween-themed episode of original series, "Stitchers."

Sweat Inc. (Oct. 20 at 10 p.m. on Spike TV)

Jillian Michaels returns to TV in the new Spike TV reality competition series where 27 aspiring fitness entrepreneurs compete to prove they've developed the most groundbreaking and effective exercise program.

Love at First Kiss (Oct. 21 at TK on VH1)

VH1's latest dating series finds two strangers looking for love who skip the first date rituals and go straight to the first kiss in hopes of everlasting love.

Hemlock Grove: Season 3 (Oct. 23 on Netflix)

The third and final season of the Netflix drama comes to a twisty conclusion as Roman and Peter learn they will need to sacrifice their humanity to stave off the "end of days."
