NFL free agent Ray Rice has reportedly not received an invitation from any NFL team for a work out this season, but the NFL's football operations department supports Rice and believes that he deserves a second chance, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

If Rice is given an opportunity by any NFL team, VP of football operations Troy Vincent would reportedly support the decision, as the league has been impressed with how he has conducted himself since his arrest. Rice has dedicated himself to mentoring children and has educated others on domestic issues.

It's almost unbelievable that Rice has not been given another opportunity, especially as Greg Hardy has returned to play with the Dallas Cowboys. Hardy was only dismissed of charges of assault after the victim failed to show in court in February. Shortly after the charges were dismissed, the Cowboys signed Hardy to a one-year contract worth up to $13.1 million. Many are upset that Hardy has been given a second chance without an actual apology, while Rice has been reaching out to help, according to Christine Brennan of USA Today.

"Domestic violence is real," said Rice. "It happens every 12 seconds as we speak. I made a life-long commitment to my wife and to my daughter, to the survivors of domestic violence, to go out there and not only help but share my story so that men can make better decisions. That was the worst decision I've ever made in my life."

Rice still has not gotten an opportunity from any team in the league, and some thought he would get a chance after Jamaal Charles tore his ACL. Former NFL fullback Vonta Leach tweeted that he was surprised that Rice didn't even get an opportunity for a work out. Rice is 28 years old, and the window is closing on him to get a second chance. With the NFL supporting the former Baltimore Ravens running back, it will be interesting to see if any team takes a chance on him.
