Unlike most of his late night counterparts, Stephen Colbert is an openly devout Christian. The host of "The Late Show" welcomed Oprah Winfrey to his show Thursday night where the pair discussed their faith and picked out their favorite verses from The Bible.

Winfrey stopped by "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" to promote her new show "Belief." The series travels all over the world to places where cameras have rarely been to search for the origins of "diverse faiths and the heart of what really matters." Winfrey told Colbert what she thought the difference between faith and belief was.

"There are a lot of people who think that they are not faithful people but have beliefs," Winfrey said. "You cannot be in the world without believing in something, even if you don't call it a deity."

Winfrey spoke about how she was known as "the preacher girl" when she was young because she constantly recited Bible verses. Colbert also grew up in a very religious setting. The late night host was the youngest of 11 children in a Roman Catholic family. He attended Episcopal school and is an ordained minister who teaches Sunday school, according to The Daily Beast.

Winfrey and Colbert then went on to talk about their favorite passages from The Bible.

"Mine is from Matthew. 'So I say to you do not worry for whom among you by worrying could change a hair on his head or add a single hour to his life,'" Colbert said.

Oprah chose an Old Testament verse from Psalm.

"'Delight thyself in the Lord, he will give you the desires of your heart,'" she quoted.
