Actor John Stamos has been charged with a misdemeanor for driving under the influence of drugs after he was arrested for driving erratically this past June in Beverly Hills, Calif. If convicted, the "Grandfathered" star could face a possible sentence of six months in prison.

Stamos was pulled over on June 12, on suspicion of driving under the influence and was then hospitalized for a possible medical condition. He was later arrested at the hospital. Police pulled the actor over after they received "numerous calls" about a possible drunk driver on the road, reported E! News.

Nearly one month after his arrest, Stamos, 51, checked himself into a rehab facility for substance abuse. After a couple weeks in a treatment facility, the "Full House" star tweeted that he was back and out of rehab.

"Took a month to take care of things. Healthy. Feeling grateful for the love & support of family & friends," Stamos wrote on Twitter.

"I've had a rough year with my mom dying, so it all came to a head, and it was a turning point," he said in a recent interview. "You either continue on that path - and some of it's fun, but a lot of it's not - or there's this other thing, this golden opportunity sitting there with all this work and all this goodwill that you have going for you. That's the key. I feel better than I've felt in a decade."

Stamos is due in court on Friday, Oct. 16. While DUI charges normally carry a maximum six month jail sentence, the actor is most likely to get probation because he is a first-time offender, according to TMZ.
