Hulu's Tim Connolly has announced that its Virtual Reality app will be made available next month, the same month that Samsung's $99 Gear VR headset goes on sale.

The video-streaming company is a major digital video provider, like Netflix and YouTube, that supports virtual reality content.

The concept has been making tech companies curious and busy because of its potential to be part of the mainstream. Facebook is also known to be working on the format, evident with its purchase of the Oculus, CNET reported.

To add to the VR experience of users, Hulu is also planning to make pure virtual reality films - movies that can only be played through VR products like Gear VR, according to Engadget.

Pure VR films can provide a big change in the movie-watching experience of people. There are already VR headsets, such as Google's Cardboard, that are changing the possibilities for in-home entertainment. It already has an app that can turn a room into a cinema and provide viewers with a big screen experience at the comforts of the their own homes, SlashGear reported.

There has been no announcement regarding the specific day of release for the app, but it will be launched at the same time as Gear VR, which promises compatibility with Samsung's Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, Note 5 and Galaxy S6+.
