What better way to fill a day doing nothing by watching a show about nothing.

Hulu began streaming all nine seasons of "Seinfeld" on Wednesday. The streaming service requires viewers to pay the $8-a-month subscription fee to watch the 168 episodes produced.

"We think it's a one-of-a-kind property," Hulu CEO Mike Hopkins told CNNMoney. "There aren't too many shows that have a puffy shirt in the Smithsonian, for example."

The NBC sitcom ran from 1989 to 1998 and starred Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Michael Richards and Jason Alexander. Hulu will restore the original network version, which puts back about three to four minutes cut for syndication, Seinfeld told Seth Meyers on "Late Night" earlier this month.

Seinfeld felt so confident during the show's run that it would be syndicated that he made his best effort to make it not look dated. The comedy may stand up, but the comic admits his choice of clothes were impossible to stay current.

"At the time, there was a certain point where I knew this was going to get syndicated," he told Meyers. "Let me try and dress in some in some kind of way... and it's impossible. There are no clothes you can wear... the way we look right now, there's nothing we can do that in 10 years we don't look ridiculous."

"Seinfeld" won the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series in 1993 and the award for Best TV Series - Comedy at the 1994 Golden Globes. Louis-Dreyfus also received her first Emmy in 1996 for her role as Elaine Benes and Richards won the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Cosmo Kramer three times ('93, '94 and '97).

Much like Netflix did with "Friends," Hulu also hopes to introduce a new and younger audience to the popular '90s comedy.

"We believe that we're going to be able to introduce 'Seinfeld' to a whole new young audience that's here at Hulu," Hopkins told CNNMoney. "We also think that Seinfeld with help us attract a new audience to Hulu."

Hulu secured the distribution deal for "Seinfeld" in April. The site reportedly paid more than $150 million for the rights, according to CNNMoney.
