The iFruit app for Apple iOS devices is a companion application to "Grand Theft Auto V." It allows people to interact with the game in ways that would not be possible through the game itself. One of the coolest things the app, which is meant to mimic the iPhone's iOS in only the way that GTA can, is the ability to customize cars from your phone. According to IGN, you can use the app to customize engine size, exhaust, respray the car and even the type of horn you want installed.

You can use one of the apps in the iFruit app to train Chop the dog. You get the dog very early on in the game from Franklin. Using the app you can train him and increase his level a lot to make him a significantly better in-game ally. You'll need to do things like feed him and keep him happy and even take part in mini games. Once he's a higher level he can help seek out items and collectibles that are otherwise very difficult or impossible to find.

Users of the iFruit app can also check Lifeinvader, the game's Facebook-like social network. Users can check up on read various profiles and interactions of the in-game characters. It's worth noting that as the game's story progresses, people's Lifeinvader account changes based on what happens to them. You can also earn things like free haircuts and other benefits by keeping up with certain pages.

You can also use the app to direct you to the Apple App store where you can download both "Grand Theft Auto III" and "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" in their entirety to be played on your iOS mobile device.

The iFruit app will likely be coming to Android phones soon but there is no set release date from Rockstar just yet. The company issued the following statement on the matter: "For those asking about the Android version of the free iFruit companion app, we are working very hard to get that out as soon as possible.
