An Indiana woman got a major shock when she discovered a spider on her shoulder, prompting her to abandon the moving vehicle she was driving — leaving her son inside.

Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Chad Hill said Angela Kipp, 35, was backing the car out of her driveway in Syracuse, Ind., Friday afternoon, with her 9-year-old son in the backseat, when she saw the spider and leapt out of the car while it was in reverse, according to SFGate.

"She was responding to the fear of the spider and, unfortunately, had [the car] in gear," said Hill.

In response, her son climbed from the backseat into the driver's seat and tried to step on the break, reported the Associated Press. However, he accidentally hit the gas pedal, sending the vehicle speeding onto the road and into a nearby school bus.

Kipp's son was taken to a hospital for minor head injuries. The school bus had no passengers on it and the driver of the bus was uninjured, according to Metro.

Hill noted Monday that Kipp likely won't be charged for the incident.
