A Danish man living in South Africa has been arrested by local police after they allegedly found pieces of female genitalia in the freezer of his Bloemfontein home.

The man, identified by Danish newspaper BT as 63-year-old Peter Frederiksen, was found to have 21 pieces of genitalia stashed away in his freezer after his wife, who remains unnamed, told police that he drugged her and mutilated her while she was incapacitated.

"The man's wife is one of the women. We are now investigating who the other 20 are," police said in a statement.

It was later revealed, thanks to BT, that Frederiksen had openly discussed practicing female genital mutilation with journalist Jorn Starry in the past, reported the Daily Mail. During the discussion, he revealed that he was taught by Jorn Ege - a doctor who performed penis and breast enlargements, and was arrested in Greece after fleeing from Denmark after allegations of tax fraud began to surface.

In addition to the genitals, police confiscated anaesthetic medication, surgical equipment and a collection of photos.

Police spokesperson Constable Maselela Langa revealed that Frederiksen, who also owns a gun store, kept records of every body part, who it belonged to and when it was removed, noting that he faces sexual charges for the mutilations and will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court Monday, according to allAfrica.

Police urged women who may have fallen victim to the man to come forward.

"It is now important that we get from the man's victims. At this stage we do not know how many women there are, as there are many, many photos," Langa said. "We are engaged in research and to question the man. It is as if he knew his victims and knew where to look for them."
