Thanks to set photos and numerous reports, fans of HBO's "Game of Thrones" know that a major battle for the upcoming sixth season was recently filmed. The battle is said to take place between some of the central figures and powers in Westeros, promising fans an action-packed sixth season.

Warning: The following contains possible spoilers for "Game of Thrones."

The battle in question involves House Bolton, which currently resides in Winterfell, fighting against the Wildlings who have the backings of the Karstarks, the Umbers and the remaining forces of Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillaine), according to WinterIsComing

The report claimed this was a "climactic battle" that will be one of the most ambitious action set pieces in series history and require considerable amounts of practical effects and CGI. A leaked picture of the carnage was posted on Twitter recently. But what is potentially most interesting about this battle is who its leaders are.

Jon Snow (Kit Harington) was betrayed by his brothers of the Night's Watch and murdered at the conclusion of season five. However, every fan and TV insider is expecting everyone's favorite bastard to return next season. According to the report, the first thing Jon does upon his "resurrection" is lead the Wildlings in their attack against the Boltons to rescue his sister Sansa (Sophie Turner).

In addition, a report from Irish Thrones, an outlet claiming to be familiar with the production of the show, confirmed that Benjen Stark, Jon's Uncle and Ned's brother, will return next seen to seek "vengeance" alongside Jon. This report has not been verified at this time and should be taken with a grain of salt and a sip from the Milk of Poppy.

Benjen Stark only appeared in the first season of the series back in 2011 and was portrayed by Joseph Mawle. Both in the books and the show, he went missing after a ranging mission North of the Wall.

As of now, there have been no reports confirming the actors return to the "Thrones" set in Ireland. Loyal book readers have long suggested that the character known as Coldhands is actually Benjen Stark.

Production on season six of "Game of Thrones" is already underway and new episodes are expected to premiere sometime in 2016.
