Johnny Depp and his wife Amber Hear got into a bit of trouble earlier this year when they brought their two dogs into Australia. Depp was in the land down under to film the next "Pirates of the Caribbean" film called "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales," when the country's minister of agriculture, Barnaby Joyce, said the couple brought their two teacup Yorkshire terriers into the country without the proper paperwork.

Last night Depp was on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" and discussed the legal woes with the late night host.

"We were under the impression that we had all the paperwork done with the dogs, we were there with the dogs in front of everybody," Depp said during his appearance Thursday night.

Heard was charged with illegal importation contrary to the Quarantine Act of 1908 and producing a false document, reported E! News. The actress did not comment about the court case, but Depp did discuss the possible jail time with Kimmel.

"They threatened to put her in jail – isn't that true?" Kimmel asked Depp.

"If they did that, I'd just fly to Australia and assault that man," Depp joked. "So that I could go to jail."

Heard's court hearing in the case was adjourned until Nov. 2, according to People.
