With summer officially over after Labor Day and New York Fashion Week kicking off this weekend, it's time to welcome fall with this season's best wearable trends.

1. Duster Coats, Ponchos and Capes

For fall season, an added layer of outerwear is a necessity, but don't just put on any jacket if you want to set a stylish tone. Duster coats, ponchos and capes have been winning on the red carpet. Brands like Chanel, Marni and Chloe debuted this season at the recent runway shows. They're light, but provide the right amount of coverage from the cold autumn wind.

2. Fringe

The playful fringe trend is still a favorite of designers this season. It's on jackets, capes, skirts and bags. The style either exudes Western or boho-chic appeal.

3. Slip Dress and T-Shirt Dress

Fashionistas find the T-shirt dress, or its more feminine version, the slip dress, comfortable to wear. This trend, which saw its rise in the 90s, can be worn underneath a snazzy coat or jacket or paired with sexy shoes and jewelry.

4. Updated White Blouses

White blouses are classic pieces but you can ditch plain looking ones for more stylish versions that have fringe, lace, ruffles or bows. Designers like Oscar dela Renta and Rodarte presented updated versions of the white blouse at the recent runway.
