The college football season is officially upon us which means the Internet must brace itself for petty Twitter squabbles, YouTube videos of grown men crying and an onslaught of obnoxiously drunken fans. Other than that, here are three things we want to see in college football this season.

1. Cardale Jones

Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer finally ended the mystery last night as quarterback Cardale Jones got the start over J.T. Barrett.

In his only three career starts, Jones has won the Big Ten Championship, the AllState Sugar Bowl and a National Championship. Not bad, right?

Although last night's season debut had its ups-and-downs, Jones showcased the skills that make him such an entertaining player and a legitimate threat to be the first QB selected in the 2016 NFL Draft.

2. Jim Harbaugh

Jim Harbaugh's time with the San Francisco 49ers was defined by a meteoric rise and an equally disastrous falling out. No one doubts that he's a good football coach, but is his in-your-face style sustainable? More importantly, can it coax a winning season out of a Wolverines team that has been marred by mediocrity for several years?

Michigan's 24-17 loss to Utah in their season opener is not a good start to the new era.

3. Christian Hackenberg

Ever since Christian Hackenberg became Penn State's starter in 2013, pro scouts have been ogling him like a piece of meat. With a 6-foot-4, 228 pound frame and a cannon for an arm, he has all the physical tools to be the top QB prospect in all of college football.

But a rough 2014 season and an embarrassing start to this year has devastated Hackenberg's stock. Can he overcome a dismal offensive line and fulfill his potential? His NFL future depends on it.
