The opening credits for the highly anticipated show "Scream Queens" was released today, and it proves that the new Fox series will be the perfect mix of horror and comedy.

The idea of "Scream Queens" came from "Glee" and "American Horror Story" creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, according to Entertainment Weekly. The show will revolve around a sorority, led by Emma Roberts, that is being stalked by a killer who rocks the school's Red Devil mascot outfit.

The opening credits video shows Roberts, Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Diego Boneta, Glen Powell, Keke Palmer, Skyler Samuels, Jamie Lee Curtis and Billie Lourd all being scared by the Red Devil, with a twist of comedy in each of their appearances.

"It's similar to 'American Horror Story' in that it's anthological but different in that at the end of the first season there will only be four characters out of 25 left," Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter. "Every season is a new season, a new setting, a new establishment - the difference being you will know some of the characters who will live. That's the fun to me; the reason I love writing it and being a part of it is it's like an Agatha Christie mystery where every week it's who's going to live and who's going to die. We do kill off a huge amount of people every week. It's a whodunit at its core."
