SanDisk, one of the world's largest memory storage device manufacturers unveiled its latest 256GB SanDisk Extreme Pro Compact Flash memory card Thursday, packed with high-performance and great storage for extreme photographers. The new compact flash card is the world's first CFast2.0 memory card and also the world's fastest, which is best-suited for professional photographers who like to worry less about storage space.

According to the company, the Extreme Pro Compact Flash is designed to capture 4K, the latest video technology succeeding HD TV. The card delivers a minimum continuous write speed of 65 MB/s and can go up to 140 MB/s. The card's read speed goes up to 160 MB/s with its Video Performance Guarantee (VPG-65) certification.

"SanDisk has been at the forefront with storage solutions that enable the broader adoption of new video capture technologies. We always design our SanDisk Extreme Pro cards with professional photographers and videographers in mind," Susan Park, director, SanDisk mobile and imaging worldwide retail product marketing, said in a press release. "Cinema-quality 4K video capture demands tremendous performance and capacity, which is exactly what we have delivered with the new 256GB SanDisk Extreme Pro CompactFlash card."

The Extreme Pro Compact Flash offers a range of cards with different storage capacities like 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB with similar read speed up to 160 MB/s and write speeds go up to 150 MB/s. These cards are tested for durability and also coated with RTV silicon for extra protection against shock and to perform in extreme temperatures from "minus 13 degrees Fahrenheit to 185 degrees Fahrenheit," the company said in a press release.

The cards also come with an offer to download RescuePRO media recovery software. A one-year subscription of the app will help photographers retain the images in case deleted by mistake.

The cards are available for purchase online and in retail stores with prices ranging from $219.99 to $1,809.99 depending on the storage capacity.
