Pop stars and BFFs Katy Perry and Rihanna proved they don't need a girl squad to have a good time! The ladies enjoyed some quality time together the night before the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, People reported. The close friends dressed alike in similar boho-themed outfits.

Rihanna, 27, showed off her legs in a short flowy, patterned mini dress. Her auburn curls were pulled up in a high pony at the top of her head and she pulled the bright outfit together with pink and orange open-toe heels, a metallic clutch and a lavender lip.

Perry, 30, opted for a pair of silk high-waisted pants with an Asian-themed floral pattern against a navy blue background. She paired her look with a white cropped peasant top, a white clutch and simple strappy black heels. She wore her ombré hair wavy and loose with a middle part and kept her makeup neutral.

The ladies arrived at the Raven nightclub in New York to party it up together while many of their fellow artists were in Los Angeles preparing for Sunday night's 2015 MTV Video Music Awards ceremony. Rihanna was up for the Video with a Social Message VMA for "American Oxygen," according to E! News. Perry did not release music this year, so she was not nominated for any awards.
