Katy Perry is the highest paid celebrity in the world who is not a boxer. The pop star ranked third on Forbes Magazine's 100 highest paid celebrities of 2015, coming in behind boxers Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. Perry is the highest earning female star by far, with her closest competition, Taylor Swift, coming in at number eight.

Perry earned more than Swift, Miley Cyrus, and Rihanna combined last year, according to Forbes.

Perry raked in $135 million mostly due to her successful cross continent Prismatic World Tour and her halftime performance at this year's Super Bowl (source). Over the past year Perry has played 124 shows with 75 of them taking place outside of the United States, according to Music Times. The same report also says that more than 60 percent of Perry's income comes from foreign markets.

Another element that makes Perry more successful (and rich) than her fellow pop stars is merchandise. According to Forbes, the average fan at a Katy Perry concert spends $20 on merchandise alone, which is four times more than that of her pop peers.

Coming in behind Perry at number four is boy band One Direction, with radio personality Howard Stern rounding out the top five.
