Jessica Lange announced last year that she was not returning to the fifth season of "American Horror Story." The actress had been an incredibly important part of the show since its inception, first in a pivotal supporting role in "American Horror Story: Murder House," then taking the lead with season two titled "Asylum." Luckily for fans, co-creator Ryan Murphy missed Lange so much that he confirmed to Entertainment Weekly on Thursday that the actress would be back on the show... at some point.

"I've been talking to her," Murphy revealed. "It's always possible. I'm trying to deal with her play schedule. Jessica is always about the character. She'll be back."

Lange has been a busy woman ever since she left the FX anthology series. She filmed a road-trip comedy with Shirley MacLaine and Demi Moore called "Wild Oats" that will be released this fall and announced her return to Broadway next year for a revival of "Long Day's Journey Into Night," reported Vulture.

"She's not gone forever," Murphy said. "But that's the fun and fresh thing about the show: sometimes somebody has to go away before you realize how much you miss them. She wants to come back we just have to come up with something."

Murphy said that "American Horror Story: Hotel" was taking place in modern day Los Angeles about five years after the events of "Murder House." One character from season one was already announced to be appearing on "Hotel," so that might mean Lange's character, the villainous and manipulative Constance, could as well.

Considering the fact that Murphy revealed there might be two seasons of "American Horror Story" next year, Lange could have double the chance to be on the show. "Next year we might do a fall American Horror Story and a spring," Murphy said, according to Cinema Blend.

"American Horror Story: Hotel" premieres Oct 7. On FX.
