FX Networks CEO John Landgraf told TV Line that he knows a few details about Season 5 of "American Horror Story," but he doesn't want to reveal specifics just yet. He explained that show creator Ryan Murphy should be the one to spill on themes, cast etc. but Landgraf did tell TV Line that the upcoming season will be "radically reinvented."

"One of the things I love so much about that is that it can be radically, radically reinvented in terms of tone, setting, period, characters, cast... I think there's going to be an unusually large reinvention in between Book 4 and Book 5 relative to, say, between Book 3 [Coven] and 4 [Freak Show]."

Landgraf also hinted that the fifth season could be set in the present day, but that's not much of a spoiler since every odd-numbered season of "American Horror Story" has done that. TV Line also asked the CEO if he knew anything about Jessica Lange's departure after Season 4's "Freak Show."

Lange, who has been a part of the cast since its premiere episode in 2011, announced last year that she wasn't going to return for the fifth season.

"Ryan is really, really independent in how he makes these shows and what he does. So I know the setting, I know something about the characters and something about the tone and the time period, but I don't actually know the cast yet," Landgraf said.

Back in October, Murphy teased the fifth season telling Entertainment Weekly that fans could figure out the theme if they paid close enough attention to the first few episodes.

"There are clues in the first two episodes because I figured out season 5 very early on and I know that fans love that. So there are clues that are dropped," he said.
