This isn't the first time "AHS" lovers have feared Jessica Lange's departure, but now it is really happening.

The 65-year-old actress confirmed the news herself Sunday at Los Angeles PaleyFest.

"We've had a great run here," she told the crowd during the "AHS" panel.

"I have absolutely loved doing these four characters that I've had the opportunity to play ... Forty years of acting and it's never going to get better than this. Yes, I'm done. I loved this season. It was my absolute favorite."

Jessica Lange has starred as the lead part in all four seasons of "American Horror Story," and she leaves behind some tough shoes to fill.

"I love the writers and Ryan and the insanity of shooting it," she added.

While I'm sure no one can top Lange's natural ability to transform into any scripted identity, the news of the recent cast additions can help to alleviate the sadness associated with her departure.

Matt Bomer has signed on to star alongside Lady Gaga in the series' next installment "Hotel," which is said to be based on a real-life hotel, according to the Huffington Post.

"I can't confirm nor deny that there will be a romantic relationship [with Lady Gaga's character]," he said of his newly-acquired role. No details have been revealed about which character the 37-year-old will be playing.

Bomer made a chilling guest appearance in "Freak Show" - one that was unforgettable and certainly rather . . . bloody.  The "White Collar" star is "down" for whatever craziness the writers come up with, HNGN previously reported, and we can't wait to see just what that is.

"American Horror Story: Hotel" premieres in October on FX. Stay tuned for more plot details and casting news. We're excited to see what Ryan Murphy comes up with next.
