The Detroit Pistons are expecting to be a deep team this year, and because of that they expect an improvement over last season's 30-52 record. Andre Drummond is clearly the best player on the team, and even at the young age of 22 years old he is looking to take more of a leadership role. Drummond and some of his Pistons teammates will be heading to Las Vegas to train with UFC fighters and trainers, according to Perry Farrell of the Detroit Free Press

A couple of weeks ago the Pistons hosted some UFC fighters for a cross training session in the team's practice facility, and now those UFC fighters appear to be returning the favor. The Pistons players are expected to be in Las Vegas for about a week and consider this an early part of training camp.

It is unknown exactly which players or how many will be in attendance but Drummond and Reggie Jackson were reportedly instrumental in making this happen so they will be there and so will Spencer Dinwiddie who is fighting for minutes as a backup guard. Dinwiddie also said that Brandon Jennings is already in Vegas rehabbing and will likely make an appearance but it is unknown if he will participate in the work outs.

The main focus of the trip to Vegas is for team bonding but while there the Pistons players in attendance will likely be doing two-a-days. Dinwiddie said they obviously aren't going to fight the UFC guys but this a great opportunity to get in shape.

With Greg Monroe gone Drummond is now the clear franchise player in Detroit and he seems to know that. A 22-year- old taking the reigns of leadership at this young of an age is impressive and makes you wonder how great of a leader he can be as he gets older and more experienced. Drummond is pretty good at basketball too, as he averaged 13.8 points and 13.5 rebounds per game last season and should have another monster year in 2015-16 as he will be looking for maximum contract extension next offseason.
