Seven people have been sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court and were charged with multiple attacks, including one against a school that killed 150 people.

The majority of those killed in the attack, which took place on December 16, 2014 were children, the Pakistani Army said in a statement on Thursday, according to Al Jazeera.

An eighth person involved in the school attack was sentenced to life in prison. Six of those convicted were members of Tawhid-wal-Jihad. Two others are involved with Tehreek-e-Taliban and Jaish-e-Mohammad. It's not known when the sentences will be carried out.

The Pakistani parliament amended the constitution in the last few years so civilians in terrorist cases can be tried by military courts. The Supreme Court upheld that decision earlier this year, Al Jazeera reported.

Following the attack on the school that killed 150 people, Pakistan relaxed a prohibition on executions that stood since 2008, according to The Indian Express.

The Pakistani Army said in a statement that the trials for the convicted terrorists were fair. The convicted attackers will have the opportunity to appeal their convictions, according to The Huffington Post.
