The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, a high-rise hotel on the Sin City Strip has reopened its rooftop pool deck, where a fire started a day ago sending plumes of black smoke into the air and forcing patrons to flee, according to The Associated Press.

The hotel said the Bamboo Pool on the 14th floor deck, which could be seen with charred palm trees and cabanas after the fire on Saturday, reopened at 10 a.m. the following day, with the exception of a bar on the deck and some guest rooms located near the pool, according to NBC News.

The blaze, which was first reported at approximately 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, was contained in about 30 minutes and left two people suffering from smoke inhalation, said Clark County fire officials, as HNGN previously reported.

Clark County Battalion Chief Leo Durkin said the decorative palm trees surrounding the pool were made out of foam and although it can take some effort to ignite, it burns rapidly once it catches fire and burns with a lot of intensity, according to The Washington Post.

Authorities are still trying to determine the cause of the fire at the 3,000-room Las Vegas hotel.
