Ever since Caitlyn Jenner - Bruce Jenner at the time - revealed that she'd be making her transition, Laverne Cox has been very open about her respect and appreciation for Jenner, and after months of speaking on the phone and over social media, they have finally met.

Jenner and Cox, who made her transition years ago, gathered with a large group of women for a private screening of Jenner's new docu-series "I Am Cait," according to E! News. The two have been saying how badly they've wanted to meet for some time now.

The 31-year-old "Orange Is the New Black" trans star posted a photo of the two at the screening. "@caitlynjenner and I finally met in person at a special private advance screening of #IAmCait. #TransIsBeautiful #girlslikeus #caitlynjenner," she captioned the photo. Cox looked fierce as always in a black crop top and patterned mini skirt while Jenner went for a more casual look in a white blouse and jeans.

She then shared another photo of all the beautiful trans women, including Candis Cayne, Trace Lysette, Jen Richards, Zackary Drucker and Mimi Marks. "Fun with #girlslikeus tonight at the screening of #IAmCait," she captioned the photo. Lysette also shared a selfie of her and Jenner at the screening with the caption, "The brave @caitlynjenner at the #IAmCait private screening #transisbeautiful #girlslikeus."

About a month ago, Cox said that she was completely moved to tears by the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians: About Bruce" special. Before the special aired, Jenner had called Cox to talk about transitioning, and Cox revealed that she couldn't be more proud of her courage. She understood that Jenner just wanted people's lives to be saved and that he could help people by doing this.

When Jenner's Vanity Fair cover came out, Cox took to Tumblr to write a long and thoughtful note about her beautiful magazine cover, stating how amazing it was that she too had the opportunity to be on the cover of Time Magazine. "It feels like a new day, indeed," she wrote. "When a trans person can present her authentic self to the world for the first time and be celebrated for it so universally." Jenner quickly responded to the post by tweeting, "You are fierce and fabulous! Your support means the world. Thank you for all that you do for the community."

The two are extremely powerful figures in the transgender movement, along with their friend Candis Cayne. Cox posted another photo from the screening of her and Cayne with the caption, "With the legendary @candiscayne. This actress paved the way for me and so many others."

Watch Jenner's journey since her transition when "I Am Cait" premiers on E! Network July 26.
