U.S. President Barack Obama, in the company of his daughters Sasha and Malia, and other family members, took a stroll through Central Park on Saturday morning. Obama was in New York City to attend a fundraiser and spend time with his daughters, according to New York Daily News.

The commander-in-chief was also joined by his half-sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng and brother-in-law, Konrad Ng. Crowds of onlookers, joggers and tourists were taken by surprise as he took a short walk in the park just south of Sheep Meadow and the famous Tavern on the Green, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Two years ago, at a fundraiser Obama talked about his desire to visit Central Park. "I just desperately want to take a walk through Central Park again, and just remember what that feels like," he said. "But the problem is, obviously, it's hard to do now. And so my idea has been to see if I was - if I got a disguise could I pull this off," New York Daily News reported.

President Obama expressed his emotions last month as he watched his little girls grow into young women. "They're hitting the age where they still love me, but they think I'm completely boring. And so they'll come in, pat me on the head, talk to me for 10 minutes, and then they're gone all weekend," Obama said. "They break my heart," according to The Associated Press.

The First Family, sans First Lady Michelle Obama, also attended a matinee screening of the Tony-award winning musical "Hamilton" on Saturday. The President was scheduled to return to Washington the same night.
