President Obama celebrated Father's Day by attending his daughter Sasha's dance recital in North Bethesda, Maryland, Sunday, and made a point about the duties of being a father during his weekly address.

President Obama, father of two daughters - Malia 14 and Sasha 12, is all about balancing his personal and professional life, but more than his achievements as a President he looks forward to being a successful father for his daughters in the future. While the fathers around the world were embraced with warm wishes of their children, President Obama chose to take time out to attend his daughter Sasha's dance recital at Strathmore Music Center in North Bethesda, Maryland, Sunday.

First lady Michelle Obama also extended her wishes to all the fathers along with personalized wishes to her husband via her official Twitter account. "Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there - especially you, POTUS! -mo," she tweeted.

President Obama did not miss a chance to talk about what it means to be a father and how important it is to fulfill the duties of being a father, during his weekly speech Saturday. He said that being a father is the most important job than any one will ever have and there is no substitution for a father's love and support.

"When I look back on my life, I won't be thinking about any particular legislation I passed or policy I promoted. I'll be thinking about Michelle, and the journey we've been on together. I'll be thinking about Sasha's dance recitals and Malia's tennis matches - about the conversations we've had and the quiet moments we've shared. I'll be thinking about whether I did right by them, and whether they knew, every day, just how much they were loved," the president said.

Obama further added that the secret of success in being a father was really in being the best "source of comfort and encouragement to our kids." Supporting and loving our own kids unconditionally and bringing the best out in them is the major success of being a father," he added.
