While the Obama daughters are growing up fast, Barack and Michelle recently revealed why they won't let their 12-year-old on Facebook, even though 15-year-old Malia has limited access, People magazine reports.

During a sit-down interview with Barbara Walters on ABC's "20/20," the President and First Lady explained their parenting choices when it comes to social media.

"I still am not a big believer in Facebook for young people...particularly for them, because they're in the public eye," Michelle said. "Some of it's stuff they don't need to see and be a part of...So we try to protect them from too much of the public voice."

That doesn't mean, however, that Sasha isn't influential in her own right online. After photographs of the pre-teen sitting courtside alongside her parents and sister at an Oregon State game against Maryland appeared online, Twitter went crazy with comments about her stylish black sweater with a unicorn knitted on the front, and the top from UK clothing company ASOS was sold out within hours.

As for what the future has in store for the First Daughters, by the time President Obama's second term ends in 2017, Malia will be in college and Sasha will be a sophomore in high school, and the President revealed that "Sasha will have a big vote" on whether or not she should stay in Washington D.C. to finish school or move back home to Chicago, as in his words, the family has "made a lot of sacrifices on behalf of my cockamamie ideas, the running for office and things."
