Former WWE champion Kurt Angle has been rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery.

The 46-year-old, who is currently a TNA wrestler, underwent surgery just last week to remove a benign tumor from his neck, according to Fox Sports. On Wednesday, he was rushed back to the hospital because of a severe pain and loss of feeling in his extremities. Luckily, everything went well with the procedure, so he is currently doing OK.

His management team originally broke the news on his Twitter account with several tweets describing exactly what had happened.

"Friends and Fan [sic] this is a message from Mr Angles Management," they began the series of tweets. "Yesterday while Mr Angle was preparing for his travel to the UK for Comic Con he was experiencing sever [sic] pain, he lost feeling in his extremities, and starting to have some difficulty breathing."

The management team then went on to explain that Angle's wife, Giovanni, was "very concerned," so she decided to rush him to the hospital. Once at the hospital, his doctors informed him that these symptoms were a result of a large buildup of fluid on his spinal cord from his recent surgery.

Considering it could be a fatal condition, they "immediately underwent emergency surgery to relieve the pressure on his spine."

Fortunately, they ended the tweets with, "The surgery went well and doctors believe he will have a full recovery. Kurt apologies to his friends and fans that he will not appear at Comic Con in London this weekend as hoped. Kurt is doing well and we will keep you posted on his progress."

He then answered one fan by saying, "It will take a heck of a lot more to keep me from entertaining the best fans in the world, wrestling fans." He also promised that he will be making it up to his London fans.

Angle was a part of WWE from 1998 to 2006 before he signed with TNA, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, according to Sport Act. His sixth reign as a TNA champ ended last month when he lost the title in order to schedule the tumor surgery.

He was released from the hospital late Wednesday and is recovering at home with help from his wife and children. Doctors are monitoring him, but they are confident in his recovery.
