Lee Thompson Young's suicide remains a mystery after police say no suicide note was found. According to TMZ, law enforcement officials said a probe of the actor's North Hollywood apartment did not reveal any clues as to why Young took his own life.

The celebrity website reports that that the "Rizzoli & Isles" star did keep a diary but at first glance the entries didn't reveal much. TMZ also said they spoke to several people who knew Young and they were just as shocked as the rest of the world. According to the people TMZ spoke to there was no apparent indication that anything was wrong in his life.

Young's body was discovered Monday morning by his landlord. According to reports, once he failed to show up to work that morning, staff called his landlord and asked him to check on the actor. That's when the he was discovered in his home from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

According to US Weekly, Young was last seen on Saturday and police believe it was on that same day that he took his life. Celebrities and fans immediately began flooding Twitter with their shock and condolences over the news.

The Wrap reports that the show "Rizzoli & Isles" has stopped production; it's not clear when the cast and crew will resume shooting. The series was recently picked up by TNT for a fifth season. Young has been a central character on the show since 2010. He played detective Barry Frost.

On Monday, his rep issued a statement to Fox saying how heartbroken everyone was over the news.

"It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning," Jonathan Baruch told Fox. "Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor; he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed. We ask that you please respect the privacy of his family and friends at this very difficult time."
