iPhone Users More Attractive, BlackBerry Users Richest? What Your Smartphone Says About You (PHOTOS)

Is your choice of smartphone, be it an iPhone, BlackBerry or Android, an extension of your personality? That's what a new survey by TalkTalk Mobile aimed to find out, surveying 2,000 owners over the three major brands, the Daily Mail reports, and their findings may surprise you!

The study used a point scoring system to determine personality traits, daily habits and the types of industries people work in.

If you're an iPhone user, you may be more vain and image-conscious, as the study found that Apple owners tend to rate themselves as more attractive than those who use other headsets. However, you also may be more media savvy, well-traveled, ambitious, succesful and a harder worker, as iPhone users reported working late the most as compared to their phone peers at five times a month.

If you use an Android, you may be more creative, polite and a better cook, though you also may drink the most and watch the most TV. The study found that Android users tend to be more introverted, calm, relaxed and shy.

As for BlackBerry users, you have probably have the most friends, are the most social, have the most long-term relationships, and earn the most money compared to your smartphone peers. The study also found that BlackBerry users may drink the most caffeine in the form of coffee and tea, put in the least hours of work and eat out the most.

Why does our choice in smartphone seem linked to our personality? Dan Meader, Director of Mobile at TalkTalk, weighed in.

"Many of us have our mobile phones on us almost constantly so they do become an extension of us in many ways," he said to the Daily Mail. "It's interesting to see then how the choice in handset may reflect different aspects of personality and the results do reveal some quirky differences.

"Once you see yourself as a certain type of phone user, it can become a huge part of the way you live your life and people tend to subscribe to the one they feel suits them best. Of course, simply buying a certain type of phone doesn't mean your personality or way of living immediately changes, but the results could suggest that certain types of personality are drawn to different features and functions of certain handsets."
