Amanda Bynes' parents, Lynn and Rick presented themselves in court, Friday to seek permission to take control of their daughter's financial and personal affairs, calling her homeless and paranoid.
Amanda Bynes has been in a mess for the last couple of months, grabbing headlines for all the wrong reasons. She has been in the news for her controversial twitter posts, her psychiatric conditions and many drunken driving incidents.
In an attempt to take matters into their own hands, Bynes' parents Lynn and Rick presented themselves in court Friday to seek permission to take control of their daughter's financial and personal affairs, calling their daughter homeless and paranoid, TMZ reported.
"We are deeply concerned that Amanda poses a substantial risk to herself, to others and to property based on recent events in her life," they stated in the declaration.
According to the parents, Bynes reportedly has issues with her body image and is obsessed with thoughts that she is ugly.
Bynes' parents reported that their daughter had $3.3 million in assets and over $4 million in the bank. E!Online said in a recent news piece that her parents also confirmed that she had written "approximately $63,000 in checks...between the period of May 3, 2013 and July 19, 2013." She withdrew $100,000 on June 4 and another $100,000 on July 2 and they have no idea where the money went.
Bynes was put under psychiatric hold on Monday after she started a fire on the driveway of a home in the Los Angeles suburb of Thousand Oaks, where she grew up.
Earlier in May, the actress was arrested for allegedly throwing a marijuana bong out the window of her 36th-floor Manhattan apartment. In 2012, she was charged in Los Angeles with driving on a suspended license. The license was suspended after she was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and a misdemeanor hit and-run incident.
