Royal Baby: Carole Middleton Visits The Hospital, Why Prince Charles Will Not (PHOTO)

As the world waits for Kate Middleton and Prince William to leave the hospital toting the newborn Prince of Cambridge, the royal couple is receiving some special visitors.

According to People Magazine, Kate Middleton's parents have arrived at St. Mary's hospital in London for their first visit with their new grandson. Michael and Carole Middleton were both spotted looking chic in blue as the entered the Lindo Wing where their daughter gave birth Monday afternoon.

According to witnesses, the couple waved and smiled, acknowledging the crowd of photographers and on-lookers before being led inside by Jonathan Ramsay, the head of the Lindo Wing.

While Middleton's parents rushed to visit the royal baby, first-time grandfather Prince Charles will not be making an appearance at St. Marys.

According to Us Weekly, the 64-year-old is attending engagements with wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, in Yorkshire and Wales on Tuesday and Wednesday.

While he has yet to meet the newborn future king, Prince Charles said he celebrated the birth with champagne.

"I'm thrilled and very excited," he said. "I think the mother, son, father... are all doing well. I think it's a wonderfully uplifting moment for the country.

"Grandparenthood is a unique moment in anyone's life, as countless people have told me in recent months," he also said in a statement. "I am enormously proud and happy to be a grandfather for the first time and we are eagerly looking forward to seeing the baby in the near future."

According to the mag, Prince William and Kate are expected to leave the hospital after 6 p.m. on Tuesday evening.

The couple has released a statement praising St. Marys for the excellent treatment they have received.

"We would like to thank the staff at the Lindo Wing and the whole hospital for the tremendous care the three of us have received," the statement read. "We know it has been a very busy period for the hospital and we would like to thank everyone—staff, patients and visitors—for their understanding during this time."
