Get 12 months Xbox Live Gold Free When You Buy MS Office 365

Consumers who have been thinking of switching to the Microsoft Office 365 suite will have an easier time deciding now that it comes with freebies.

Microsoft launched a promo on Thursday giving away one year of Xbox Live Gold for free when you buy an Office 365 Home Premium or Office 365 University. The promotion is said to last up until September 28 this year. The same offer is available in the United States, Australia, Canada, and Europe and in some parts of Asia.

The deal works in a way that, when you buy and activate an Office 365 that’s qualified for the promotion during the eligibility period, an Xbox Live code will be given away when you do the initial Office setup. The consumer can then redeem the code provided by visiting the website Xbox.com or by using the game console directly to start using the 12 months free Gold membership. On a side note, the code must be use on or before October 31 this year, or else it will be invalid.

Memberships for Xbox Live Gold usually cost $60 a year, and can give features such as access to applications, multiplayer gaming, having Internet Explorer to your TV, getting NFL on Xbox, Game DVR, OneGuide, SmartMatch, and Skype, just to name a few.

Office 365 was released last January on a subscription to Redmond's version of Office suite. With an annual price tag of $99.00, the package already includes all the Office applications such as Excel, Word, OneNote, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, and Publisher, and has licenses for five devices. You can also get the Office 365 University with a four-year subscription for $79.99.

Recently, Office 365 has already has more than one million subscribers, placing it in the same pace as with other popular internet services, according to Microsoft.
