New rumors say that Apple will not be releasing a high-resolution Retina version of the iPad mini until 2014.
The new rumor was shared by China’s Economic Daily News which said that instead of the originally planned release this fall, the iPad maker is delaying the release until the first quarter of 2014.
The iPad mini with Retina display has been one of the much awaited device as it promise to have the same high-resolution that the bigger iPads, iPhones, iPod touch, and MacBooks have. It has a high pixel density in which the human eye will not notice any pixelation at a typical view. The iPad mini 2 is expected to have the same Retina count of the iPad which has a resolution of 2048x1536. This means that the user should not notice any pixelation up t0 15 inches viewing distance.
This new rumor spread out the same time that rumor about the iPad 5 will be launched in September this year. It was mentioned in brief that the iPad Mini 2 or the Retina version will be launched with the fifth-generation of the iPad.
It can be recalled that reputable business analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities forecasted in in April that the iPad mini 2 may be delayed until October this year because of the production issues Apple had from its Retina suppliers.
What was certain though is that Apple is pushing an update on the internals of the first-generation iPad mini this fall.
The iPad mini was released in October 2012 equipped with the same resolution that the iPad and iPad 2 have but contained in its 7.9-inch screen allowing a higher pixel density. The iPad Mini 2 aside from its Retina display will also use an A6 processor which is better than the current A5 processor of the device according to CNET.
Apple, however, has not confirmed any release date ever since the rumors came out.
