Dannielynn Birkhead, daughter of the late Anna Nicole Smith, is following her mother's footprints by becoming the next Guess Girl for the spring 2013 Guess Kids campaign.
Birkhead wants to feel connected with her late mother through modeling for the Guess clothing line as her mother did. Smith died of drug overdose in 2007. Since then Dannielynn's father, Larry Birkhead took care of Dannielynn. She was five when her mother passed away.
"Dannielynn has always looked up to her mom's image," Birkhead said in an interview with "Good Morning America", as reported by E news.
"I think this is kind of Dannielynn's way of paying tribute to her mom in her own special way," he said. ""To see her mom's picture next to hers as a Guess girl and say, 'Hey, I was a Guess Kids girl, my mommy was a Guess girl,' that might be her only connection with her mom."
Dannielynn seemed very excited about the photo shoot and becoming the next Guess girl. The modeling debut is also a homework assignment for Dannielynn, and is supposed to share her experience and her connection with her mother through this.
"She asked me if she was going to be on the shopping bags like her mom. She was really excited about it," Birkhead said. "She had great time on the shoot. It was really just a day at the beach, playing in the sand."
Birkhead also revealed Danielynn's future career options, which is not likely to be a model. "Her plan is to become a doctor, a birthday cake baker or the owner of an ice cream truck," he laughed. But the money made from this modeling gig will be kept safe for her future.
The gorgeous 6-year old impressed everyone with her charm and joyful attitude.
"Dannielynn has the same playful spirit that her mother had on a set," said Paul Marciano, Creative Director for GUESS?, Inc. said in a release, as reported Fashion & Style. "She is a second-generation GUESS girl, which makes this campaign a first for us."
