The Kansas City Chiefs are in desperate need of an upgrade at the wide receiver position. Not a single WR managed to catch a touchdown for them last season, and that can't stand in Andy Reid's pass-happy West Coast offense. The Chiefs will surely look to free agency for some help - Jeremy Maclin and Randall Cobb have been mentioned as possibilities - but the team should also invest a high draft pick into the position.

In his latest mock draft, ESPN NFL Draft Insider Todd McShay projected Kansas City to select Dorial Green-Beckham with the No. 18 pick.

"The Chiefs could really use a downfield threat at the wide receiver position...and if they want one with slightly less risk, then Michigan's Devin Funchess and Arizona State's Jaelen Strong are options here," McShay wrote. "However, it's easy to see why they might take a chance on Green-Beckham. He has a unique skill set at 6-5, 237 pounds with 4.49 speed and flashed some impressive play as a true sophomore for Missouri in 2013. However, he's very raw on tape and has had some significant incidents that resulted in his dismissal from the Missouri football program, so this would be a high-risk/high-reward pick."

Green-Beckham will have to prove to teams that his maturity and decision-making issues are in the past. What bodes well for him is that Reid has successfully managed players with less than sterling reputations in the past.

With Jamaal Charles healthy and Travis Kelce emerging as a quality pass-catcher, all this offense is really missing is a mismatch wide receiver. Green-Beckham can be that guy.
