Which?: Samsung Galaxy S4 Battery Life Twice Longer than iPhone 5

Which? put Samsung Galaxy S4, iPhone 5, and other popular smartphones to a test of battery life in terms of call time and internet use.

Which? is a product testing organization based in U.K which conducts testing of services and products to help consumers make better buying choices. It is a private organization and does not receive funding from the government. It also has a magazine that has about 1.2 million subscribers.

Samsung Galaxy S4 won the test with 1,000 minutes of call time and 400 minutes of internet use based on the test done by the organization. It defeated other contenders during the test.

Apple iPhone 5 got a disappointing rank as it landed second to the last and not even close to Samsung Galaxy S4. Its call time is just about 499 minutes.

It is not just on battery which Samsung defeated Apple because an earlier test on processing time had Samsung declared Apple as winner.

Other smartphones tested by Which? were Nokia Lumia 920, Sony's Xperia Z, Google's Nexus 4, HTC One and Blackberry Z10.

Nokia Lumia 920 ranked lowest on the test with just 235 minutes of internet time. The rest of the smartphones had varying test results in terms of internet use and call time.

For those who would use the smartphone more on talking may benefit from Xperia Z or Nexus 4 which allows up to 800 minutes of call time. However, if you will be using the smartphone more on internet use, you should get your hands on either the HTC One or BlackBerry Z10.

Which? conducted the test using a network stimulator to ensure that all smartphones received the same signal strength to ensure accuracy of results.

Apple’s iPhone 5 won in one test though as it is has the quickest charging time at 141 minutes only for a full-battery charge.
